Job DescriptionBMK Secure Solutions, LLC is seeking a part-time Social Media/Marketing Coordinator to assist in social media and marketing related projects.  

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for supporting and executing on a variety of social media/integrated marketing communications strategies and campaigns for a diverse set of clients across multiple industries. The Social Media Coordinator will engage in day-to-day tasks to ensure optimal delivery for every initiative, which may include posting across social channels, research, creative/copy writing, social/digital monitoring, engagement, content creation/cultivation support, event support, administrative tasks and more. Using versatile writing skills, creativity and basic knowledge of brands, social media and/or marketing concepts - the position will require an individual with a diverse skill set.

This is a part-time, entry-level position that is part of a cross-functional team that includes public relations and various marketing entities. A successful candidate can expect to grow and be exposed to multiple aspects of the marketing communications mix in a fast-paced, small team environment with multiple projects running at the same time.

Duties May Include:

  • Responsible for execution around social media/marketing communications strategies
    Social Media tactics - which may include Tweets, Facebook posts, photos, videos, day-to-day engagement and more (approx. 2-3 posts per day)
  • Evaluates and monitors appropriate social-digital channels
  • Helps cultivate new social media communities - as well as new, emerging platforms/opportunities
  • Assists in creating unique social media/marketing communications plans and campaigns
  • Helps drive the content creation process - from conception to delivery
  • Engages in writing activities - from copy writing to helping to reinforce unique voice
    Supports the office with some administrative responsibilities when necessary
  • Assists the Project Manager with design and distribution of marketing materials (may include Constant Contact or email communications)
  • Participate in professional development activities

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have some work experience and a solid understanding of the social media universe - including Twitter, Flickr, Facebook, Google and emerging platforms
  • Strong, versatile writing skills as can be applied to marketing communications situations - with the ability to switch to vastly different styles on the fly across different platforms
  • Basic understanding of brands and marketing concepts preferred
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to compile, assess and explain social media metrics and measurements
  • Must be comfortable with multitasking, ready to take on multiple projects of different kinds all at once
  • Must be self-motivated and organized
  • Must be able to work independently and/or with a team
  • Must be comfortable working in a virtual environment

Education and Experience:

Public relations, journalism, marketing, advertising, communications, or graphic design experience a plus
0-1 year of marketing, social media and/or public relations experience, including internships
